AI assistant for Renoise

Describe it.

Type what you want — a drum pattern, a brighter lead, a variation on the verse — and Pocket Ender writes it into your song. Every instruction is one undo away.

Coming soon for Renoise 3.5 and later.

Features

Everything you would do by hand,
in plain language

  • Compose patterns

Drums, bass lines, chords and melodies, written straight into the pattern editor on the tracks you choose.

  • Design sounds

“Make the lead brighter with a faster attack.” Pocket Ender adjusts filters, envelopes and modulation for you.

  • Apply effects

Add and set up effect chains: “tape-style reverb on the pads, keep the transients dry.”

  • Improve songs

Ask for a variation, a fill or a stronger chorus, and get a suggestion you can apply or skip.

  • Describe sounds

One click turns any instrument's synth settings into a plain-language description, and every change comes with a before/after summary.

  • Import & export

MIDI, MusicXML and ABC sheet music, text notation, and audio analysis that detects tempo, key and melody.

  • From brief to song

Start from a short text brief and let Pocket Ender plan and build a complete, structured song skeleton.

How it works

A chat panel inside Renoise

  1. Install the tool. Drag the Pocket Ender file onto the Renoise window; it opens as a panel next to your song.
  2. Choose where the AI runs. Our cloud, your own AI provider key, or your own machine — fully offline if you like.
  3. Describe the change. Pocket Ender reads the part of the song you point at, makes the change and tells you exactly what it did.

Every instruction is a single undo step, so trying ideas costs nothing.

Run it your way

Three ways to connect the AI

  • Cloud

Nothing to install besides the tool. The AI runs on our service and you pay as you go with pre-paid credit.

Needs a Pocket Ender licence key.

  • Bring your own key

Use your own Anthropic or OpenAI account. Your key is sent with each request and never stored, and no credit is used.

Needs a Pocket Ender licence key.

  • Self-hosted

Run the Pocket Ender service on your own machine with Docker, using your own keys — or fully offline with a local model through Ollama.

For people who want everything on their own hardware.

Licence and credit prices will be announced at launch.

You stay in control

Your song, your decisions

  • One undo per instruction. However many notes or settings change, one Ctrl+Z takes it all back.
  • Before and after, every time. Each change comes with a summary of what was there and what is there now.
  • Your keys stay yours. With your own provider key, it is used for the request and never stored.
  • Offline if you want. Self-hosted with a local model, nothing leaves your machine.
